About the journal
CADRE is an independent journal on auteur and festival cinema. We don't cover the release of the week — we write about what actually shapes film: festival selection, the language of direction, and world cinema beyond the English-language mainstream.
Our editorial line is the festival circuit as the central filter of contemporary cinema. We cover Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Locarno on a regular basis, alongside independent and genre showcases. Formats: essays, critical readings, interviews, and festival dispatches.
The journal publishes on a regular schedule. All material is original.
